The San Francisco Police Department is seeking the public's help to identify an alleged sunglass thief, after they say he stole over $900 worth of merchandise from a Polk Street store.

According to SFPD spokesperson Officer Carlos Manfredi, the crime went down at 5:35 p.m. on November 11, 2015 at an optometry office on the 1300 block of Polk Street, which is between Bush and Pine Streets. (It appears that both the date and time on the store's surveillance video, which you can see below, are incorrect.)

Manfredi says that the suspect entered the office, walked directly to the sunglass counter, and escaped with "Several pairs of high-end sunglasses."

Manfredi says that the suspect "appears to be a black male approximately 5'8", 150 lbs. with brown hair...wearing a black beanie, dark grey jacket, dark jeans, and carrying a black backpack."

If you recognize this guy, Manfredi asks that you contact SFPD's Anonymous Tip Line at 415-575-4444 or text them the tip at TIP411, just remember to begin message with "SFPD."
