Bullets ripped through multiple storefronts in San Francisco's Ocean View neighborhood Sunday morning, during a fatal shooting that is San Francisco's 40th homicide of 2015.

According to San Francisco Police Department spokesperson Officer Grace Gatpandan, at 8:04 a.m. Sunday, police were called to Broad Street and Plymouth Avenue in Ocean View.

"Upon arriving at the scene," Gatpandan says, "officers located a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso."

The man was transported to San Francisco General Hospital, where he died of his injuries, Gatpandan says. As of Monday morning, he had not been publicly identified.

The Ingleside-Excelsior Light reports that the shooting tore "through the glass of Dream Team, a boutique apparel store."

"Two bullets struck the glass façade of Lacy’s Barbershop next door," they report, and gunfire also hit two parked cars that were towed away "to examine for evidence."

Gatpandan says that SFPD's Homicide Unit is "still developing suspect information, method and direction of flight, possible vehicle information, as well as a motive," and that "once this information is available it will be distributed." In the meantime, the Light reports, police on the scene collected footage from nearby security cameras and "took in participants of the incident, how many is unclear, for questioning and medical services."

“It’s a sad day for someone," Dream Team owner Donald Andrews told the Light.

Gatpandan emphasizes that "this case is still open and active," and urges anyone with information on the shooting to contact the SFPD's Anonymous Tip Line at 415-575-4444 or to text a tip to TIP411 with SFPD at the beginning of the message.
