Pedestrian In Crosswalk Seriously Injured By Van Driver

A 64-year-old woman was seriously injured Monday morning when the driver of a van struck her as she walked in a crosswalk.

The woman was in the crosswalk at Third and Brannan Streets, which is near South Park in SoMa, when the driver of a van struck her at 9:53 a.m., KRON4 reports.

The woman suffered life-threatening head trauma, and was transported to San Francisco General Hospital.

The driver of the van, a 27-year-old man, stopped at the scene, but was not arrested, KRON4 reports.

A call to the San Francisco Police Department for further information on the collision was not returned at publication time.
