Since Salesforce still owns the property, Golden State Warriors COO Rick Welts took the opportunity at the Dreamforce conference this week to unveil the above rendering video of the exterior and interior of the proposed Warriors Arena, which remains threatened by a possible legal fight with the nonprofit Mission Bay Alliance. The Alliance, funded by wealthy donors to UCSF and apparently comprised of some current and former employees of the University, have hired some very expensive lawyers to poke holes in the draft environmental impact report (EIR) for the arena — and longtime local power player Jack Davis has been brought in, too, promising to "go over every single line" of the document.

Most recently, in July, a city report pointed to some definite potential traffic nightmares for the area, which will not have adequate parking for the 18,000-seat arena, and everyone is just hoping that on big game and concert nights, no one will drive there.

Foes of the arena plan argue that traffic in and out will impede the ability of emergency vehicles at the adjacent UCSF Medical Center at Mission Bay, including the Benioff Children's Hospital.

The Business Times reports that the Warriors are hoping to start construction as soon as early 2016, should this fight over the EIR blow over.
