Back in December we learned of the closure of 12-year-old Chez Papa Bistrot, only to have the space become the larger home of the original Chez Maman in March. Now, as the Scoop reports, we have word about the new concept from restaurateur Jocelyn Bulow and chef Brandon Peacock (from Oakland's Lungomare, and Chapeau in the Richmond). And it's got the somewhat unfortunate name of Dat Spot. It's a rotisserie chicken and comfort food concept with things like matzo ball soup and spaghetti and meatballs on the menu, and you can see the whole menu over at Eater.
The rotisserie birds come with a choice of sauces that includes regular gravy, cranberry sauce, chimichurri, housemade hot sauce, and warm dijon mustard, and a choice of sides including smoky mac-and-cheese, and "carnival corn."
Dat Spot debuts on Monday, September 21, and it sounds like brunch will be in the mix immediately, starting the following weekend.
