Are you sick of the heat yet? I was, like, dying the other night trying to go to sleep in sweltering 70-degree temperatures without a window open for fear of mosquito bites (I was eaten alive Monday night, I have no screens). A friend said Tuesday, "I'm actually offended by the heat." Yes, we are weak and spoiled in these usually temperate, foggy climes, and even if we might complain about the fog we don't take kindly to hot days that don't just go away in a flash like they're supposed to. You wanted a real summer? Well, you're getting it.

Records were broken in various parts of the Bay Area Wednesday, and SF hit 95, which was the highest temp recorded here since August of 2010.

KQED points out that one side effect of the hot weather is "lots of industrious spiders," who (and I did not know this) develop faster and build big webs in hot weather. And if you have a fear of spiders, you definitely should not read this thing from CNN about brown recluses seeking refuge in homes in extreme heat.

The Chronicle reports that SF is expected to hit 85 today (but Weather Underground shows the Lower Haight already at 93), and Oakland will be in the nineties, with triple-digit temperatures in Livermore, Napa, Santa Rosa, and elsewhere.

Color-blocking weather woman Roberta Gonzalez shared shots of a "robust" marine layer returning early this morning around the Golden Gate and the beach, which is a sign of a cooling trend which we'll begin to feel tomorrow — so, sorry if you never made it to the beach last weekend and were hoping to get there Saturday, because it's supposed to be kind of cloudy with a high of 68.

And next week is predicted to be fairly sunny with more typical San Francisco temperatures in the mid to high 60s, so it will be summery without being sweaty. In other words, perfect.

Apologies if you don't like house/dance music, but here's a track for daytime dancing, an "Indian Summer Remix" of Sam Feldt's version of "Show Me Love," even though it's technically still summer-summer for another 13 days.
