Saturday's Mission Street hit-and-run wasn't the only such crime last weekend — Sunday night, two more people fell victim to a driver that struck them, then took off.

According to an San Francisco Police Department spokesperson, a 57-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy were in a vehicle headed through the North Beach intersection of Powell and Francisco Streets at 11:36 Sunday night.

That's when the driver of a black Dodge Durango (a fairly standard-looking SUV) ran the stop sign, and slammed into the side for their car.

An SFPD spokesperson says that the Durango was going fast enough that one side of the victims' car was crushed by the impact. The youth was bruised by the crash, and the adult's ribs and knee were both hurt. Both were transported to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment of their injuries, which aren't considered life-threatening.

One might assume that the Durango driver was also injured in the crash, but no one actually knows: the driver abandoned the Durango, and took off on foot.

As of Monday morning, police did not have any information on the suspect, nor had any arrests been made. They ask that anyone with information on or who might have witnessed the collision to call SFPD's anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or to send a tip by text message to TIP411 with “SFPD” in the message.
