Earlier this year, the 3,000 foot granite monolith El Capitan in Yosemite saw a historic free climb that captured and held the world's attention.
Well, now you can return to El Cap whenever you'd like, and anyone is free to climb up the Nose of the rock face thanks to a new Google Street View project.
Just hours from Mountain View, three of the world's best climbers, Tommy Caldwell of the January climb, Lynn Hill, and Alex Honnold joined forces to use the technology company's camera equipment, taking 360-degree photographs every few feet on their way up.
The push to capture the vertical "street" view is part of a larger effort from Google to document less populated areas of the world that can be digitally explored by armchair enthusiasts. As the New York Times notes, in the past Google teams have attached cameras to rafts floating down the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon.
