An 88-year-old man was struck and killed by a driver in the Outer Sunset Monday morning, the third such fatality in as many days.
A driver hit Jinrog Ouyang of San Francisco at around 6:30 a.m. Monday at 41st Avenue and Pacheco Street, according to a San Francisco Police Department spokesperson.
Following the collision, Ouyang was transported to San Francisco General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver, who stopped at the scene and was cooperative with investigators, was traveling on Pacheco Street at the time of the collision, an SFPD spokesperson said.
Police did not have any additional information on the crash, including if the driver was cited, at publication time.
Ouyang's death is the third pedestrian death in San Francisco since Saturday. That night, 17-year-old Seana Canavan was struck by a taxi near Pine and Larkin Streets after she reportedly ran into the roadway.
On Sunday, a man since identified as 24-year-old San Francisco resident Abisai May Dzul was struck and killed by a driver as he walked up the Alemany Boulevard off-ramp from northbound Highway 101.
According to the Ex, Dzul might have been struck by as many as two cars before he died. None of the vehicles stopped, however, and now the California Highway Patrol is keen to track those drivers down. If you have any information on the case, please contact Officer Hoey at the CHP’s San Francisco office at (415) 557-1094.
