Have a hole in your heart where WonderCon once was? Hopefully this can fill that void.
In a charmingly dorky video shared on Friday, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak and comic book legend Stan Lee announced the inaugural Silicon Valley Comic Con, scheduled to take place in March of 2016 at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center.
"Today we're lucky to have so many kinds of entertainment, from movies, TV shows, web series, music, video games, social media and more, and the lines between entertainment and the technology we love so much in Silicon Valley are getting blurrier every day," Wozniak wrote on the SVCC website. "We're going to create a place where all these different kinds of interests can come together, and we can come together too."
The Silicon Valley Comic Con looks to become the de facto pop culture geek convention in the Bay Area. Big Wow! Comic Fest, happening this weekend also in San Jose, became the largest comic book-related convention in the Bay Area after WonderCon traveled south in 2012. According to the San Jose Mercury News, Big Wow! will become a part of the SVCC schedule.
