We'd heard a tip recently that a permit application had been filed for parking limos on Grove Street in Civic Center on Monday March 23, in connection with the arrival of the cast of an unnamed TV show with the initials G.O.T. We weren't sure what to make of this, given that Civic Center hardly made sense as a backdrop for shooting Game of Thrones, but now it all comes together: Fan blog Winter Is Coming has the news that the Game of Thrones Season 5 premiere and red carpet event is happening on Monday at the War Memorial Opera House. Get excited, everybody!!

Yes, the stars of the show, including Emilia Clarke, Michiel Huisman, and Peter Dinklage will all, supposedly, be in SF and answering questions live on the red carpet from 6 to 7 p.m., according to a press release from HBO, and fans can submit questions in real time via the Game of Thrones Facebook page. Also, the whole red carpet thing will stream live on Facebook, too, for that hour, in anticipation of the April 12 television premiere of Season 5. Also, immediately following the live coverage, there's going to be an exclusive behind-the-scenes video playing on the Facebook page as well.

And, GOT super fans, there's this:

One hundred super fans from the Bay Area will be chosen to participate in the red carpet “Fanzone” which provides perfect viewing access to cast members and other celebrities as they arrive. They will also attend the screening and receive a VIP gift bag featuring a USB loaded with the album “Catch the Throne: The Mix Tape Volume 2.”
