In a pretty fast turn of events, local restaurateur Franck LeClerc is shutting down his Greenwich Street outpost of Cafe Claude after just 18 months. As Inside Scoop reports, following a January hiatus, LeClerc received multiple offers on the space, and business hadn't been what he hoped, so he's letting it go.

Cafe Claude remains a downtown favorite on Claude Lane, and LeClerc has gone on to build a bistro empire with Claudine, Gaspar Brasserie, and Gitane, where the menu veered away from Spanish cuisine last year and has a new chef as of last month.

Per the Scoop, LeClerc has "his eye on another new project," location TBA.
