As ABC 7's Dan Ashley dutifully shows us, three adorable African penguin chicks are making their debut in the Academy of Sciences peguin exhibit next week, on March 11. The three little guys have all been born in the last three months, with two a few weeks older than the third.
African penguins are endangered, and the Cal Academy has been engaged in a massive effort to rescue abandoned baby penguins in South Africa abandoned by their parents when food is scarce in certain seasons. The penguin population in South Africa has declined 70 percent since 2001.
