In a decidedly literal collision, the Chronicle has word that an Uber car and a taxi cab have crashed into one another today. The incident took place at 9:24 a.m on the 3200 block of 16th Street, per Jen Balestrieri, a spokeswoman for the San Francisco Fire Department.

After the initial crash, the cab then struck the front gate of Elixir, the bar that occupies the northwest corner of 16th and Guerrero Streets. It's possible the first crash occurred in the intersection, and we'll update the story as more details become available.

None was seriously injured in the incident, though one was transported to the hospital by paramedics and four were examined on the scene, according to Balestrieri.

“When we get the cab pulled out, we will take a look at the damage,” Elixir manager Nick DesEnfants told the Chronicle. “But all things considered, the damage looks minimal — thankfully.” He tells SFist via phone this afternoon that the bar should be open today, though perhaps not at 3 p.m. as usual.
