San Francisco Police have made an arrest in the case of the attempted arson at the "Mrs. Doubtfire House." The two fires set at the home Monday night were minor and extinguished quickly, but left the doormat and garage door charred.

The Pacific Heights home featured in the 1993 Robin Williams film is currently the home of Dr. Douglas Ousterhout, who specializes in facial feminization surgeries for trans women. According to Officer Albie Esparza, the suspect is Tyqwon Eugenen Welch, 25, of Los Angeles. She's been booked on attempted murder, criminal threats, trespassing, arson, and possession of an incendiary device. Ezparza told the Chronicle that Welch is, as Ousterhout told the police he suspected, one of his former patients.

When Robin Williams died in August, the 1906 mansion served as a touchstone and monument to his life and work. It's for that reason, of course, that this crime has so struck a media and public who still seek to honor his memory.
