Package thievery from doorsteps is rampant this time of year, and one Vallejo homeowner decided to emulate some fellow fed-up victims and leave a decoy package for his repeated thief filled with dog poop.
This tactic is something a couple DC publicized a couple weeks ago via Consumerist, and which we noted the other day in relation to some thieves caught on camera swiping boxes in front of a home in Noe Valley. The story got national headlines, and has obviously spawned imitator vigilantes.
Vallejo man Bryan Nalette tells CBS 5 he got fed up with packages going missing, going back to October, so he collected some of his dog's shit and put it in a box this week waiting to be stolen. "I wish I could’ve been there in the car when they opened up the box," he says. He did, however, get some surveillance images of the thief, which he turned over to police.
