A shooting on Thanksgiving Day in the Potrero Terrace public housing complex claimed the life of a 24-year-old San Francisco man in what appears to be San Francisco's 39th homicide of 2014.
It was 3:30 p.m. Thursday when, according to a San Francisco Police Department spokesperson, a silver vehicle drove up to a residence on the 700 block of Missouri Street, which is near 22nd Street.
Someone opened fire from the vehicle, police say, striking a man standing on the residence's front stoop. That man has since been identified by the San Francisco Medical Examiner as 24-year-old SF resident Daron Raynaldo, who was transported by ambulance to San Francisco General Hospital, but succumbed to his injuries.
According to witnesses, the driver of the vehicle that contained the gunman fled the scene. At publication time, no arrests had been made, nor did police have any suspect information to release.
