Six people were shot in the Mission District early Wednesday morning, apparent victims of a dispute that boiled over as a hip-hop show let out at an area nightclub.

It was 12:46 a.m. Wednesday and the crowd was just leaving Brick and Mortar Music Hall (1710 Mission Street at 13th Street). That's when, according to a concertgoer who spoke to KTVU, “Everybody start running -- chaos...I'm talking about mayhem everywhere. You got people laying, bleeding. You know what I'm saying. It wasn't a good situation.”

The San Francisco Police Department is still investigating the motive behind the shooting outside the concert venue, SFPD spokesperson Sergeant Monica MacDonald says. She could confirm, however, that six people were injured in the shooting. Four of them were outside the club when police arrived, MacDonald says, two with life-threatening injuries. They were all transported to San Francisco General Hospital.

Another victim walked into SF General later that evening, and a sixth, MacDonald says, went to another hospital, outside San Francisco.

According to the Brick and Mortar site, performers at the show that evening included Hunters Point rapper G-Val, Bay Area rapper Show Banga, touring artist Aka Frank, Bay Area rapper/clothing designer Yo Marlow, Fillmore District performer Troy Mathews, artist Band-Aid, DJ ChrissyChris, street baller and musician B-Nutti, C-Futuristic, and DJ Black Marc.

Police said it was too soon to say if the shooting was related to any musical rivalries, or even if the suspects were at the show or had been waiting outside the club. They did not have any suspect information or descriptions to release at publication time.
