This video's been making the rounds showing Stockton P.E. teacher Denny Peterson physically trying to drag a 14-year-old girl by the arms and torso into a swimming pool. As the local ABC affiliate News 10 reports, the girl was refusing to go into the pool during a P.E. class that day because she had just had her hair done and had an event to attend that night, but Peterson wasn't taking no for an answer. Another student captured it on video, and now he's being sued.
The Stockton Unified School District has put Peterson on leave, and he's already facing a misdemeanor charge of corporal injury to a child for the incident which took place in late August.
In the 90-second video you can see various other students protesting, trying to pull the girl away from the teacher and throwing water on him.
An attorney representing the family of the student says that people should be "disgusted" by the video and points out that she repeatedly says that her swim top is falling off as she's being dragged.
Peterson, who is currently not giving P.E. teachers a good name, has been with the district for 10 years.
