A fire that started this morning at a gas station body shop in Balboa Park and spread to nearby apartments has been contained, but left 23 people and two dogs without a place to live. Luckily, no injuries have been reported.

According to CBS San Francisco, the three-alarm fire was reported around 12:34 a.m. in the 300 block of Ocean Avenue, close to City College and about a block from the Balboa Park BART Station. When firefighters got to the scene, the gas station blaze had also burned two apartment buildings. By 1:23 a.m., the fire was controlled.

The cause of the fire is still unknown and SFist has reached out to the San Francisco Fire Department for additional details.

The displaced families are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
