A man visiting S.F. from Boston was walking with his wife Sunday morning near the intersection of Polk and Ellis Streets when he was shot in the leg by a stray bullet. As NBC reports, this happened around 10:15 a.m. and the couple heard "a group of people shouting" followed by a gunshot. The man then realized he'd taken a bullet.

The Chron reports that a woman was detained and could be charged with attempted murder, but NBC says she was released without charges. It sounds like another suspect may still be at large.

KTVU reports that the victim is recovering from his injury at the hospital.

Sadly, Polk and Ellis is the same intersection where that young girl was struck and killed by the UberX driver on New Year's Eve.
