Once again, we bring you all the notable food news we missed from the past week, starting with...

Tonight marks the real kickoff of Eat Drink SF, the food fest formerly known as S.F. Chefs that we told you about last month. Over at Fort Mason, tonight is the first of three Grand Tasting events, including dozens of tasty bites from the city's best restaurants, along with free-flowing cocktails and wine, and a spot of entertainment. Next we have the big update on Game, the restaurant from All Spice chef Sachin Chopra and his wife Shoshanna Wolff. As the Chron reports, the name refers both to game meat, which will be a feature, and to the playfulness of the menu, which they're dubbing, "adventurous fine dining." The chef will be Zack Freitas (All Spice, Station 1, Commis), and you can expect to find things like "elk, bison, boar, pheasant and red-legged partridge," along with paintings on the walls by local designer Michael Brennan of animal heads on human bodies. Over in the Mission, ever popular (but no longer Bauer-blessed) Mission Chinese Food is losing their current chef, Jesse Koide. He's moving on to open his own place, the weirdly named Pink Zebra, which he'll be opening in the Tao Yin space at 3515 20th Street by October or so. (And just like Mission Chinese did with the now defunct Lung Shan, Pink Zebra will share the space with Tao Yin.) Expect an "eclectic menu of Japanese and Mediterranean fare," and it'll only be open five days a week. [Inside Scoop]

Eater reports that there are two new Blue Bottle Coffee shops/cafes coming: a big one at 115 Sansome between Bush and Pine, and another in the Twitter building. The former should be open within a couple months, and the latter, probably by next year. [Eater]

On 16th Street we have the Saturday opening of CREAM (3106 16th Street), the ice cream sandwich shop that opened its first location in Berkeley a couple years back. The operation features 20 ice cream flavors to be paired with 10 different types of warm cookies for custom-designed ice cream sandwiches. And for the opening, there will allegedly be free ice cream sandwiches for all between noon and 8 p.m. Expect lines. [Eater]

Also, after a long and protracted fight to stay open, Drakes Bay Oyster Company officially closed their retail operation up near Point Reyes, as they were court-ordered to do by July 31. [ABC 7, Chron]
