The Oakland Coliseum BART Station has been reopened after a rush hour closure and evacuation due to concerns over a possible bomb threat to the station.
According to BART spokesperson Jim Allison, an unknown person called 911 at around 7:40 this morning to report rumors of a possible bomb threat to the station. According to Allison, the 911 tipster did not make the threat.
BART police and the Alameda County Sheriff's Office searched the area, Allison says, and no threat was discovered.
As of 9:01 a.m., the Coliseum station reopened, and normal service has resumed. Riders should still expect residual delays as things return to normal.
