This is as close to reality TV as a Board of Supervisors meeting will ever get. Watch in the above clip, at the 2:24 mark, as Mayor Ed Lee calls John Avalos "Supervisor Asshole," quickly correcting himself to say "Avalos."

Actually, it's not difficult to figure out what happened: It was probably an unintentional slip (Freudian or not, you be the judge), likely unrelated to Avalos recently coming clean about an affair with a former staffer.

As SF Weekly reports, the mayor is reading from a prepared statement, responding to Avalos's prepared question about divesting city pension funds from fossil fuel companies.

Avalos called the mayor's mishap a "brain fart," but alluding to the affair scandal, added: "It seems counter to what Ed Lee would do when his operatives already had the story they wanted in the news." Ouch.
