Last night around 10:45 p.m. a driver turning left onto Cyril Magnin Street from Eddy Street struck a pedestrian in the crosswalk while SFPD officers who happened to be walking the block looked on.
According to Bay City News, the officers watched as the driver backed up and then sped off northbound on Cyril Magnin, heading away from the Powell Street BART station. The officers chased the guy on foot but were unable to keep up.
Later Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning, police found the vehicle, but he suspect was long gone. No arrests have been made, but the victim was taken to San Francisco General to be treated for his injuries, which were not considered life-threatening.
