An unidentified man in his 30s sustained serious injuries Sunday night when he was struck by an inbound J-Church train near San Jose and St. Mary's Avenues, in Glen Park. The man was reported walking on the Muni tracks at the time, around 8:50 p.m., and sustained injuries to his head and legs.

CBS reports that the man's injuries were not considered life threatening, however according to Mission Local, the initial police report said the injuries were considered life-threatening.

The driver of the train was placed on leave and subjected to alcohol and drug testing, as per standard Muni procedure.

It's unclear why the victim was walking in the tracks, or how much advance warning the driver had of his presence there.
