Pleasant Hill BART station is currently closed due to "a major medical emergency" according to the transit agency. Bay City News reports a person was struck and killed by a train at the station around 10 a.m. Thursday morning.
The incident is causing 15-30 minute delays on the Pittsburg/Bay Point Line in both directions. Trains are single-tracking through the area but will not be stopping at Pleasant Hill station.
BART police pronounced the person dead at the scene and the collision is currently being investigated.
