Market Street In Castro Closed After Semi Crashes Into Funeral Home, Starts Fire

Early Thursday morning in the Castro, a frozen yogurt truck crashed into the Arthur J Sullivan & Company Funeral Home on Market Street, sparking a blaze. As of 7 a.m., Market Street heading west between Sanchez and Noe remains closed.

According to SFGate, "At 12:36 a.m., the driver slammed into the Arthur J Sullivan & Company Funeral Home near 15th and Market street, igniting both the truck and the building, according to San Francisco fire dispatchers." Here's the scene shortly after the collision:

And here it is later this morning:

Crews spent most of the morning cleaning up 150 gallons of diesel fuel that spilled from the truck, according to NBC Bay Area.

The driver and a passenger were taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. No word yet what exactly caused the big rig to slam into the funeral house.
