Twofish Baking Company, much loved for their sticky buns in their hometown of Sea Ranch on the northern Sonoma coast, was just featured in Saveur magazine this month and they've just announced an expansion to San Francisco.

As Tablehopper notes, owners Hilla Ahvenainen and Margaret Smith have confirmed the new location at 240 Ritch Street (down the block from Little Skillet), and they're aiming to be open by late June or July.

The Saveur feature, which is of course a great boon for business for such a small, rural bakery, was part of the "Day of Cooking" issue, and is a photo essay of a morning in the life of Twofish Baking, showing Smith icing cinnamon rolls, scoring baguettes, and braiding challah bread. Their typical morning begins around 3 a.m., though they don't open the doors until 8 a.m.

Smith and Ahvenainen opened their shop in Sea Ranch 11 years ago, in 2003, and in addition to breakfast pastry they're well known for their pizza and sandwiches as well, all of which often sell out.

We'll update you when their opening date becomes a reality.
