Friday: Bal Littéraire
Holy smokes, folks, this sounds fun. Friday night, enjoy the culmination of a 48-hour event in which six playwrights gather "around a pitcher of coffee and a pile of their favorite dance tunes" to "decide on a set-list of six songs that would make even the dead get up and boogie, and together they develop an interactive story that involves the city of the day, the mood of the moment, or a current event that inspires them." Tonight at 7, audience members get to experience that story (which will be performed just once), and to dance the night away. It's all happening at The French American International School (150 Oak Street), tickets are $25 and are available here.
Saturday: Ford's Fresh Smoothie Jam
Bayview standby Ford's Grocery (1496 Oakdale Avenue) has been hailed for its commitment to fresh and healthy food, in an area where that can be hard to find. On Saturday, join the SEFA Food Guardians at Ford's for their Fresh Smoothie Jam, where guests are promised "Free smoothie samples, fresh produce, aerial dancing, activities for kids and much more." The free event runs from 12-3 PM.

Sunday: Hang out With Your Mom/Befriend The Momless.
Of course you are going to see or call (if she lives elsewhere) your mother, and will talk to her for a good long while on Sunday. After all, you are not an animal! But, remember, not everyone has a mom who's around anymore, and others are (oftentimes sadly) estranged. This can make the relentless Hallmark sentiment of the day a painful one. So think hard about your social circle, and make sure to give those folks who don't have a mom some extra love and attention today.
