At a Board of Supervisors' Land Use and Economic Development Committee meeting Monday, SFMTA director of transit John Haley trumpeted the improvements the MTA says they're seeing in Muni's on-time performance stats over the last three months. But are these improvements enough? Muni riders, please share, are these statistics reflected in your commute experience?

  • 57.4%: The percent of Muni vehicles that arrived on time (aka their "on-time performance rate") in October, 2013 (an all time low!)
  • 60.2%: The percent of Muni vehicles that arrived on time in January, 2014
  • 60.4%: The percent of Muni vehicles that arrived on time in February, 2014
  • 60.6%: The percent of Muni vehicles that arrived on time last month.
  • 85%: What voters mandated Muni's on-time performance rate must be as of 1999. (This goal has never been achieved)
  • 21%: The percent of Muni "service gaps," which means trains or buses arrived more than five minutes behind schedule, in September 2013
  • 18% The service gap percentage last month
