Local bluegrass musician and banjo teacher Marilyn Vogel has penned a little ditty about the Google buses (and Genentech buses and Apple buses and Facebook buses, etc.), and even though you might not love her vocal stylings, you might enjoy her sentiments.
And yes, the corporate shuttle backlash has made it to the bluegrass realm. You're welcome.
Someone might want to tell her AltaVista isn't really a thing anymore, though.
As Vogel says in the notes:
The nominal corporate tax rate in America is 35%. Corporate monoculture taking over the Bay Area is enabled by tax dodging, asset sheltering and down-right stealing. Facebook, Google, Yelp and Genentech are all members of ALEC. These corporations are funding Stand Your Ground, climate change denial, anti-abortion laws and tax loopholes that erode our society, rights and safety. This douche-bro race to the bottom is bad for people and bad for the planet. San Francisco is our wild and precious city and these are our wild and precious lives. They will not be appropriated and they will not be commodified.
