As we mentioned the other week, in spite of the bankruptcy of its inaugural-year organizers and tensions with the city of Napa, BottleRock Napa Valley is proceeding with a second year, and the lineup just came out today. And perhaps in an effort to lure a lot of Gen Xers to buy tickets, the headliners are The Cure and OutKast, and the rest of the lineup is filled with bands I didn't even know were touring anymore like Gin Blossoms, De La Soul, Blues Traveler, Spin Doctors, Smash Mouth, and Cracker.

Also, there are a few younger acts in there, like Matt & Kim and Empires, but then a whole lot more oldsters like Barenaked Ladies, Heart, LL Cool J, Weezer, and (get this) Third Eye Blind. And there's a big country star, Eric Church, headlining on Sunday.

Maybe they were inspired by the loving reception Jane's Addiction got last year?

So, yes, if you want to relive the sounds MTV/Lollapalooza circa 1996, this is where you can do it the last weekend in May. You can buy 3-day and VIP passes now, but single-day tickets won't be on sale for a bit. And it remains to be seen what the food concession situation will be like — I'm guessing it will be less ambitious than last year, given all that happened.

The lineup is below. There's still no schedule, except it looks like The Cure headlines Friday, and OutKast is on Saturday.
