Alas. Feel free to complain about it here—140 characters or fewer, please.
We'll update as soon as we know more. Until then, pray. Just pray.
UPDATE 11:30: According to the Twitter status blog, "Most users are experiencing issues accessing Twitter on web and mobile apps. We’re looking into it."
11:35: We're hearing scattered reports of people being able to get in. Most of us, however, still cannot. It's bedlam. Madness. Widespread chaos TK.
11:40: Still down. We're now taking guesses, folks. The most obvious answer, of course, is that termites from the 100-year-old cabins have taken over Twitter's engineering room. Please welcome our new insect overlords. May they have mercy on us all.
11:45: Control wrestled away from evil termite rebellion. Twitter is back up. For now.
12:!5: Fearing yet another termite uprising, Twitter carefully cites "unexpected complications" as the cause for today's temporary outage. "During a planned deploy in one of our core services, we experienced unexpected complications that made Twitter unavailable for many users starting at 11:01am," the company's status blog notes. "We rolled back the change as soon as we identified the issue and began a controlled recovery to ensure stability of other parts of the service. The site was fully recovered by 11:47am PDT. We apologize for the inconvenience. "
