Way back in September we told you about ABV (the abbreviation for alcohol by volume), a cocktail bar coming to the former Tokyo GoGo space on 16th Street. And now we have an update: They're aiming to be open by March.

The bar is a collaboration between three seasoned vets of the local drink scene: former Beretta bar manager Ryan Fitzgerald, founding Bourbon & Branch bartender Todd Smith, and Dalva/Dalva Hideout owner Erik Reichborn-Kjennerud. But even with all their fancy training and taste, they say they want to keep this place humble and affordable, with both drinks and small plates all priced at around $10.

Writing for the Details blog, local scribe Camper English brings us the update, and adds that there will be a mural in the space by artist Nathaniel Russell.

And, as they promised before, they're eschewing all things trendy, which means no reclaimed wood, no Edison bulbs, no uniforms, and no barrel-aged or bottled cocktails. There will be a focus on local products, with only local beer and wine on tap, and plenty of good Scotch on the shelves, as well as an approachable cocktail list.

They're aiming to keep long hours too, from late afternoon to 2 a.m. We'll update you when the actual opening date gets closer.
