A firefighter was injured in the Mission District last night after battling a two-alarm blaze. The fire occurred a little before 6 a.m. on the 1400 block of Stevenson. "The firefighter was injured when he fell about 6 to 10 feet at the scene of the blaze," reports ABC 7.

Fortunately, though, all of the building's residents mange to escape unharmed. According to the Chronicle, "The blaze displaced 20 adults and a baby, along with several of the residents' pets, including five dogs, two snakes and a bird."

As of 7:30, the SFFD had the fire under control. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Also of note, one unit in the damaged building hosts regular weekly AA meetings. No word on the extent of the room's damage, but members should call Central Office (415-674-1821) to find out more. For a list of other AA meetings in the area, go here.
