Around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, an underground gas line in Oakland's Eastmont neighborhood ruptured, spilling gas and setting fire to a residential street.
Aerial footage from NBC Bay Area shows the street covered in flames and apparently engulfing a fire hydrant on the corner of Golf Links Road and Fontaine Street.
The neighborhood is being evacuated and no injuries have been reported as of around 9:15 this morning. PG&E, a hazmat team and members of the East BAy Municipal Utilities District were all on the scene.
Update: The fire was still burning around 11:30 a.m. this morning. The Chronicle reports PG&E crews were digging into the road to cut off the gas flow.
