A man was struck by a moving vehicle on the Bay Bridge around 10:20 a.m. Sunday morning after he reportedly stopped his own car and ran into oncoming traffic.

According to a CHP spokesman, the collision happened on the incline of the western (Willie L. Brown Jr. Memorial) span of the bridge. The man survived and was taken to S.F. General Hospital.

Traffic on the bridge was stopped for about 50 minutes until the scene was cleared. The man's condition is currently unknown and the incident is still under investigation.
