Joshua Skenes, the mind behind universally acclaimed SoMa joint Saison, will open his kitchen to a gaggle of noted chefs for a series of dinners this fall. Several of the chefs are currently without restaurant -- orphans, if you will -- making Skenes sort of like a gastronomic Daddy Warbucks. (Fine, that was a stretch. We just wanted an excuse to link to this.)

Inside Scoop reports, "The chef lineup is a star-studded one, and one that has some added intrigue because with Gabriel Kretuher’s looming departure from the Modern in New York, four of the five chefs are currently sans restaurant, thereby giving potential diners an added opportunity to try something new."

According to Eater, "dinner will be double the usual price, clocking in at $500 per person before wine and tip," but part of the bill will go to help the San Francisco Food Bank.

The guest stars, if you will, include Laurent Gras, Gabriel Kreuther, Matthew Lightner, Guenter Seeger, and John Shields. The series begins in October. Check Inside Scoop for dates. Make your reservation by calling Saison 415-828-7990.
