Thomas Keller, he of French Laundry fame, has opened his very first retail property, christening it Finesse, The Store. The name brings to mind two important things: 1) comma audacity and 2) this.

The name is derived from a bi-annual magazine, also named Finesse, published by the Thomas Keller Restaurant Group, and the store will hawk such must-haves as kitchen tools, cookbooks, gift cards, tasting salts, the gluten-free Cup4Cup line, and more.

Inside Scoop has the details:

Laura Cunningham designed the store, which is located in the Edward James Courtyard (6540 Washington St.) just north of Bouchon. The front doors carry the same familiar blue as the French Laundry’s entrance up the road. Inside the shop, hardwood floors, white shelves and fresh-cut flowers create an airy space. Artwork from Deborah Jones, who collaborated on the French Laundry cookbook with Keller, adorns the walls.

Michael Chiarello opened a similar boutique a few year ago, one that pairs with Bottega, down the street called NapaStyle.

Finesse, The Store (6540 Washington Street, Yountville at Bouchon) will be open from 11 a.m. -6 p.m., Thursday - Monday.
