After becoming the first airport with an in-terminal yoga studio, San Francisco International will now be upping its hipness quotient with a weekly lineup of rotating food trucks parked outside of Terminal 1.

Off the Grid, the same folks who bring you rotating food truck rallies across the bay area from the Presidio to Emeryville, will be bringing two trucks per week from their roster of Bay Area mobile favorites. The window to catch the curbside eats is relatively short: from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursdays. Trucks will be parked outside the Departures area for Southwest Airlines, giving short-haul commuters a place to grab a bite before hopping that discount flight to Vegas or Southern California (and giving the slick, foodie-favored Terminal 2 some competition.)

Although the trucks are outside, there is seating inside the terminal and no need to go through airport security. If you're the counter-intuitive sort of person who drives well out of their way to find a specific truck, there is parking available for an arm and a leg in the domestic short term garage.

If you happen to be flying somewhere during your lunch hour this Thursday, July 25th you could be among the first to sample food from a truck outside of an airport. This week's inaugural food truck duo should be announced shortly and trucks are scheduled for every Thursday for the next few weeks, with additional dates to be determined based on demand.

Anyhow, if you're looking for a much more relaxed food truck experience, we highly recommend taking in some mobile fare on a blanket at the Presidio Picnic. It's like a vacation without the plane ticket.
