A shirtless (maybe high?) gentleman hopped aboard an empty AC Transit bus this morning at the temporary Transbay Terminal in San Francisco and took it for a joyride all the way to Escalon, in Stanislaus County, 100 miles away and east of Tracy and Stockton. He was then promptly arrested.

The theft happened this morning at 9 a.m., and after it was reported some CHP officers spotted the bus on the road and chased it east on 580, and east on Highway 120 to Escalon, where they finally managed to stop it with a spike strip in the road. In any event, he was then apprehended and charged with grand theft, reckless driving, and "failure to yield."

We look forward to hearing more of this fun tale.
