On Saturday night around 11:30 p.m. a San Francisco Firefighter allegedly had a little too much to drink before his company responded to an emergency call. Michael Quinn, a 43-year-old 20-year veteran of the SFFD, was arrested after he hit a motorcyclist with the fire truck he was driving near Howard and Fifth Streets in SoMa.

The motorcyclist's injuries were considered serious, but not life-threatening. According to SFPD, Quinn is being charged with a DUI and for leaving the scene of the crash. Although, to be fair, he was on the way to an emergency. The truck had lights and sirens blazing at the time of the crash.

As spokeswoman Mindy Talmadge told the Examiner, the fire department is still conducting an internal review, but Quinn will be off-duty in the meantime. As far as she could tell, Quinn had an impeccable record before Saturday's (allegedly) tipsy incident.
