Fairfax shopkeeper Lorie Kulberg accidentally dosed three kids and their art teacher with some marijuana-laced cookies earlier this month, but the DA's office has declined to file charges against her because it was all a mix up in the stock of cookies in her freezer.

It's a very Bay Area sort of story, because Kulberg just happened to have some pot cookies lying around that she mixed up with regular cookies that she had made. The incident happened on June 12 and Kulberg brought the cookies to the art teacher and her three students who were having an outdoor class near her store, called Culture Shock.

Shortly after 1 p.m. the art teacher started acting loopy and police received a call for medical assistance. She was hospitalized and tested positive for THC. The kids were 12 and 13-years-old and were "sickened" by the cookies, according to the Marin IJ. One child was also hospitalized.

Kulberg, who was very apologetic, earlier told MarinScope, "It was a complete mistake. I had no idea they were laced at all. I would never do that intentionally... People give me cookies all the time..." She had found the cookies in "the back of her freezer," so, yeah.

In addition to the "don't take cookies from strangers rule," this story also reaffirms that rule that you should never eat more than half of any cookie you're handed in the Bay Area, just in case.
