Yet another example of San Francisco's unnerving lack of police presence in areas of concern: A 49-year-old man was found half-conscious "and possibly having a seizure" at Market and Mason Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m.

The unidentified man was whisked to a nearby hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries.

As for his assailants, they're nowhere to be found. CBS SF reports: "A half-dozen suspects allegedly involved in the attack fled the scene and had not been found as of Wednesday morning."

Anyone with information about the suspects should be directed to the SFPD anonymous tip line at 415-575-4444 or via tip by text message to TIP411 with "SFPD" in the message.
