Seeing Janelle Monáe performing "Q.U.E.E.N." live is reason enough to see her at Davies Symphony Hall tonight. Another good reason? She's appearing tonight to benefit the San Francisco Symphony's Adventures in Music program - which exposes music programs to all the kids in SF Unified School District campuses.

The $150 ticket gets you into (heaven , of course, and) the sparkling-wine reception prior to the show and the massive after-party. The former is at Davies, the latter at City Hall. Also, as if you need to be told, tonight's theme is dress the hell up. Black and white, preferably. (Deliriously, Monáe's signature colors aren't colors at all. Fantastic.)

Pre-show starts at 7 p.m., concert at 8 p.m., after-party is, well, after the show.
