Near a SoMa freeway overpass last night, a 61-year-old man was bashed in the head with a rock after an argument. The incident happened around 9 p.m. near 5th and Bryant, and the suspect is described as a man of about 40 years old, who fled the scene and has not been found.

The victim was hit in the forehead with the rock, causing a laceration and injuries that are not life threatening.

Police are seeking any information that any possible witnesses at the scene may have. Those witnesses are asked to call the SFPD's anonymous tip line at 415-575-4444, or they can text a tip to TIP411 with “SFPD” in the message.
