Few critics can make headlines in other publications based solely on their reviews. Michael Bauer is one of them. (He can even prompt less than stellar restaurants to crumble and revert to their old way, if need be.) This Sunday, the esteemed/feared San Francisco Chronicle food critic will release his annual Top 100 list. A few notable inclusions? Trick Dog, Hog & Rocks, Rich Table, Spruce (goddamn, do we love Spruce), Abbott's Cellar, and Gitane, just to name a few.

The real treat, if you will, is finding out who dropped off the list. But you'll have to wait for Sunday's print edition (!), check it out online (subscription only), or until your friendly blogger spills the details (ahem).

Until then, check out the restaurants he added to the 2013 edition.
