Friday evening, around 9:30 p.m. 19-year-old Ceejay Reed was fatally shot after he and two friends stepped out of their car on 53rd Street about a block away from Children's Hospital in Oakland. Two other victims, a 19-year-old man and 21-year-old woman, were also hit by the gunfire, but are expected to survive.

The three victims had just parked their car nearby Reed's home and were walking on 53rd Street near Dover when at least one shooter opened fire from a passing vehicle. A fourth bystander drove all three to victims to Children's Hospital where Reed died about 20 minutes later. No arrests have been made and Oakland Police have no description of the suspect vehicle.

The shooting happened just two blocks from where 21-year-old Oakland community college student Donitra Henderson was shot and killed last Wednesday night while her four-year-old son sat in the back of her car. No arrests have been made in that case either.

Friday's killing marks Oakland's 32 homicide of 2013. Anyone with any information in either shooting is encouraged to call Oakland police at 510-238-3821 or a tip line at 510-773-2805. There is a $20,000 reward offered by Crime Stoppers of Oakland for any information leading to the arrest of Friday's drive-by gunman.
