SF Appeal later reports that two inmates actually escaped. So that means two -- two! -- presumably deplorable teens are at large! Heavens.
No word yet on any description of the kids on the lam. We will updated as soon as we know more about these young rapscallions on the loose.
UPDATE: The two escapees, ages 12 and 16, "used a metal fixture to smash the glass in a 1-foot-by-1-foot window" in their cell, according to the Chronicle. Then they climbed a 20-foot-tall fence adorned with barbed wire and escaped. The boys are not considered high-risk offenders.
